Harvey Cedars is located on Long Beach Island in Ocean County New Jersey. Long Beach Island is six miles at sea and connected to the mainland by one causeway bridge. The Bridge connects Manahawkin on the mainland to Ship Bottom on the Island. There are five police departments on the island. There are six municipalities. Harvey Cedars  is approximately two square miles in size and has winter population of about 475. In the summer the population increase to about 12,000.
